Dan Evans was born in Wilmington, DE but his family moved to
Millville, PA when he was four. His mother was a jazz singer during her
college years at University of Delaware. His father marched with a
drum and bugle corps and began teaching Danny rudimental snare
drum at the age of 6.  Dan loved drum corps, jazz, and classical music,
and didn’t embrace popular music until the age of 16. He began to
listen to groups like Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Red Hot Chili Peppers,
along with classic rock acts like The Doors, Led Zeppelin, and Pink
Floyd. His senior year of high school, he and some classmates formed
a band called Inversion. They had some moderate success recording
an album, and playing northwestern clubs such as CBGB.
Eventually, on the advice of a friend, he moved to Myrtle Beach, SC.
After placing a “Drummer for Hire” card at a local music shop, he
began jamming on weekends with a 3 piece blues group. It was at one
of these gigs in Surfside Beach that he met Matt and Mark Necessary,
two musicians from Winston-Salem, NC who told him that he should
prepare to quit his day job. Over the years with the Necessary brothers
and the new and improved The Necessary Band, Dan has jammed with
musicians such as Chubby Checker and legendary bass player, Steve
Bailey. Dan lives in Surfside Beach, SC. His loves are good music,
good times, and tequila- straight up.
